Rev. Dr. James E. Steward II is a native of Brooklyn, New York. He is a dynamic pastor, preacher, teacher, chaplain, counselor, and educator. Dr. Steward is a graduate of Brooklyn College City University of New York (CUNY) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism, New Brunswick Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree, and the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy with an earned Doctorate degree.
Along with being the Pastor of South Bushwick Church, Dr. Steward is also Director of Pastoral Care and Education at Mount Sinai South Nassau in Oceanside, New York where he oversees the department that is responsible for providing pastoral, spiritual and emotional support to patients, staff, families, and visitors. He is also the primary CPE Supervisor of the Mount Sinai South Nassau CPE Program. Dr. Steward completed his CPE internship at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY, CPE Residency and Supervisory Education at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY.
Dr.. Steward is a CPE Supervisor, Board Certified Clinical Chaplain and Pastoral Counselor.
Dr. Steward is married to Elder Myeika Steward. Together they have three children: Maia, James, and Michelle.
